Mucha Quartet

Mucha Quartet (Juraj Tomka - 1st violin, Andrej Baran - 2nd violin, Veronika Prokesova - viola, Pavol Mucha - violoncello) was established in 2003. The ensemble has won the Josef Windisch Prize 2013 (Vienna), at the international competition Premio Paolo Borciani 2014 they were awarded the 2nd prize and the Prize of the public. They gained the 1st prize at the Antonín Dvořák International Chamber Music Competition 2014 (Prague).
Mucha Quartet has regular concerts at various music festivals and cultural events in Slovakia and abroad – Bratislava Music Festival, recital in the Viennese Musikverein, Chamber Music Days of J. N. Hummel, Sunday Matinée in the Bratislava City Gallery / Mirbach Palais, Albrechtina – (Un)Known Music, chamber cycle of The Slovak Philharmony, Music Summer Reichenau, Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, the official visit of the English Queen Elisabeth II. to Slovakia in 2008. In november 2011 they celebrated their debut in the Luxembourg Philharmony. In August 2013 they were awarded the Prize of the Mayor of Piešťany for the promotion of Slovak music.
Mucha Quartet performed at the Prague Spring 2015, International Music Festival Cesky Krumlov, among their periodic projects we can mention musica_litera (joining classical music and artistic word). Mucha Quartet is the laureate of Janacek Competition 2015 in Brno. The quartet played at Visegrad festival 2015 in South Korea and got the invitation for Jeju Music Festival 2016 in South Korea, too.
